Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the heart of Estes Park, the Historic Crags Lodge provides a serene retreat from the bustling city life. the rustic decor and traditional wood furnishings exude a cozy charm that transports you back in time. Sharon, the welcoming staff member, made us feel like part of the family, ensuring our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The spacious suite, complete with a living room and kitchen equipped with all essentials, offered a comfortable and convenient stay. the historical significance of the lodge, built in 1914, added a touch of nostalgia to our experience, making it more than just a typical hotel stay. Despite encountering a few hiccups with the front desk staff, the overall atmosphere and amenities at the Historic Crags Lodge more than made up for it. From the outdoor pool and hot tub to the stunning views of lush green forests, every moment at this mountain hideaway was a memorable one. The View Restaurant, a favorite dining spot in the city, served up delightful dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers' markets. the welcoming ambiance and impeccable service made dining here a true delight, adding to the overall appeal of the lodge. Our group thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, taking advantage of the hiking trails and outdoor activities available nearby. the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park provided endless opportunities for adventure and exploration, making our stay at the Historic Crags Lodge truly unforgettable.
